Robin Paper Plate

A Robin to Welcome in Spring!!

Spring is almost here and we are getting ready. We read the book "Wake Up, It's Spring!" written by Lisa Campbell Ernst since we are so excited for spring. We have been hearing the birds singing more and more around here so I thought it would be fun to make this Robin Paper Plate.

Emily painted a small paper plate with brown paint.

Emily painted a large paper plate with brown paint.

I drew a red circle in the middle and told her to paint the brown around the red circle.

Emily painted over my red circle with red paint.

After everything dried I cut the solid brown paper plate in half. Emily glued on 2 googly eyes, a beak and feet that I cut out of yellow construction paper.

We glued all the plates together and punched a hole in the top and put a pipe cleaner through it so we could hang it up!

  1. I love that Robin. So, so cute.

You asked a question about the Salad Spinner. I just used a regular spinner I bought from Wal-Mart. And I used food coloring instead of paint. It pretty much all washed out. But I figured since it was food coloring, a litle left over would still be fine for the lettuce.

  6. Very cute and simple enough for my kiddo to do on her own! We'll make this one for sure. I'd love to share it on my other blog too on a post about spring http://abcand123learning.blogspot.com/ with your permission. I'd use a picture, give a description, and direct link. Please email me and let me know. Thanks
