Emily Paints...

...Wrapping Paper

We have been enjoying the book Warthogs Paint: A Messy Color Book, by Pamela Duncan Edwards. This is a great book about mixing primary colors to get secondary colors. Emily has done some color mixing but this is the first time that I gave her RED, YELLOW and BLUE and let her do whatever she wanted with them. This is also the first time that Emily used her new easel.

Emily painted first with just the separate colors.

Then I told her to try mixing them. She had so much fun making orange, green and purple.

When she was finished we let the paint dry and used the paper to wrap Daddy's birthday present. Emily can't wait to give it to him for his birthday tomorrow!!

I discovered your blog via ABC Picnic site and subscribed in the Google Reader. Unfortunately, I can only post comments from FireFox to the blogs which have comment form embedded in the box - I am not sure why. Emily looks like a busy and happy little girl. We really should set up our easel for Anna in the backyard and let her go to town with her paints :)
