stART ~ The Cheerios Play Book

Welcome to stART! I hope that you will enjoy our story and art project and maybe even share your own too. All I ask is that you link back to A Mommy’s Adventures so that everyone can see all the other great projects that everyone shares too! The linky will be open all week.

I added a stART tab in my navigation bar to make it easier to search for past stART projects. Be sure to check it out!! All the books that we have read and did a stART project for are listed in alphabetical order.

This week Emily and Juliette have been enjoying reading and playing with The Cheerios Play Book, by Lee Wade.  This is fun interactive book that has different pictures that need to be completed by adding Cheerios to them.  Emily thought that is was a lot of fun to follow the directions on the pages and it was also great fine motor skills practice.  IMG_4827

Even Juliette liked placing the Cheerios in the recessed pages of the book.  Of course eating the Cheerios once we were all finished was a great added bonus!!

For this weeks stART project I thought it would be fun to have Emily make her own pictures using Cheerios.  I gave her a piece of poster board, markers, glue and of course some Cheerios.

She decided to find a picture from the book to draw.  First she used the markers to make the teddy bear.

Next she glued on the Cheerios for the buttons.

  5. Great fun. My kids would have eaten all the Cheerios before they finished the project.

  6. I love both the book and the project. How neat it is that Emily decided what she wanted to do and executed it so independently. She did a great job!
