Letter and Number Sticker Matching
First, I wrote all the letters of the alphabet in capitals on colored dot stickers. Then I wrote the lowercase letters on a plain piece of paper. I did these in a random order so Juliette really had to hunt for them. Finally, she used the stickers to cover the letter matches.
This was the perfect activity for my sticker loving preschooler!!! After she finished she said "another one, another one!!"
So next we did this with numbers and dots. She practiced counting the dots and covering them with the matching number.

Open Ended Art ~ Initial Collages
During Art Group the girls made Initial Collages. We had kids from 14 months to 4 1/2 working on this project. They were all able to participate in it, some were just more into it than others.
I cut pieces of poster board into the initials of the girls first names. Then they used markers to color all over them. Finally, they were able to glue on all the different materials. I had different types of fabric, ribbons, felt, tin foil, sandpaper, tulle and tissue paper.
E for Emily
Emily did hers all by herself, she even cut the pieces to the size she needed, asking for help only to cut the pieces of fabric that needed the sharp scissors to cut it.
J for Juliette
Juliette worked on hers for a little bit and then decided we needed to work on it together. She sat on my lap and we each glued pieces on to her initial. I showed her how to overlap pieces and had just as much fun as she did working on it!
Emily and Juliette had fun working on these collages!
I am thinking of mounting them on colored paper and framing them in their rooms.

Duplos + Names = Having Fun with the Alphabet
We play with our Duplos almost every single day. I am always amazed at the different creations the girls come up with, especially when playing with Grandpa. But this time I have to say we had so much fun and it was while creating LETTERS!!
I first made an A and then a N to begin writing my nephews name in Duplos. Once they saw what I was up to they couldn’t wait to see how I was going to make the rest of the letters. Of course once it was finished I had to do Emily and then Juliette’s name!
Emily was happy to pose for a picture, unfortunately Juliette was not so cooperative.
I plan on trying this again and having Emily help me make all different words.

Alphabet Hunt
I started with the letter “A” and continued with the whole alphabet in order, but it zig zags around the page like a maze, until you reach “Z” at the bottom of the page.

Muffin Tin Monday ~ ABC’s
Theme’s are back for Muffin Tin Monday and we couldn’t be more excited! I have enjoyed using my leftovers to create muffin tin meals, but it was so much fun to make a fun Muffin Tin Breakfast for this weeks ABC/Alphabet theme.
Since this week’s theme is alphabets we focused on the letters A, B and C. Both Emily and Juliette enjoyed their breakfast. Emily noticed the letters and was very excited by them. She started naming all the other foods that we could have had to go with the different letters.
Emily’s ABC Muffin Tin Breakfast
Top Row: A B C shaped French Toast (Hand Cut by yours truly, how I would love a set of alphabet cookie or fondant cutters!!)with some syrup on the side.
Bottom Row: A is for Applesauce, B is for Bacon (which was switched for Blueberries since Emily does not like bacon anymore!) and C is for Cheerios
A very happy little girl with her A B C breakfast!
Juliette’s ABC Muffin Tin Breakfast
Pink Cup: A is for Applesauce
Blue Cup: B is for Blueberries
Yellow Cup: C is for Cereal

Having Fun Learning

Our week in TOTSchool/Preschool
Emily is 37 months old
Emily and her friend went to the Circus! Both girls really liked the glow in the dark bracelets that my friend got for them from the Dollar Tree instead of buying the over priced light up toys that they sell there
Emily’s favorite part was seeing the elephants.
This week we made the letter P for Piano. I thought that Sarah did a great job putting this together for the Girls. The finished P’s looked so cute! Emily loves using the bingo dauber. She used this print out from Confessions of a Homeschooler to make the letter p.
The girls made Easter Egg Collages. First they colored an Easter Egg printout, Emily used green since that is her favorite color. Then they had foam stickers, shiny stickers, ribbon and pom poms to decorate their egg with. I really liked how this project came out.
We also made Pizza’s for lunch. These were really yummy and went along really well with our P theme!!
Emily received the Leap Frog Word Whammer Fridge Phonics for her first birthday. We have always had it out around the house but the only thing she ever really did with it was push the button to listen to the ABC song (which is actually how she learned to sing her ABC’s) Since she has been watching Leap Frog - Letter Factory, she is obsessed with letters and has really started to enjoy using the Word Whammer. She was able to follow the directions to make the words. Here she is pushing the letters that she put into the correct spots.
For our stART project we read Good Egg and Emily painted Tin Foil Easter Eggs.
For some fine motor skills practice I cut up straws and gave them to Emily to thread onto some green lanyard.
Emily helped me make The Pioneer Woman’s Prune Cake. She loved sifting the dry ingredients together as well as practicing scooping, pouring and dumping!
Emily recieved Dr Seuss Super Stretchy ABCsgame for Christmas. Since she has been doing so well with her letter recognition I thought she would enjoy this game and boy was I right! We have played this every day this week and she absolutely loves it.
This game is excellent not only for letter recognition but also for following directions. It is similar to the idea of twister, you have to try to put your hands, feet and even ear to as many of the letters as you are directed to. For each one you are able to do you get to keep that letter token. The winner is the player that has the secret letter at the end of the game.
After art group on Friday we drove out East to visit Emily’s cousin. My sister-in-law invited us over for lunch and then to go to a bunny program at their local library. Emily was so excited to get to hold a little bunny. The woman that came did a fantastic job talking to the children about bunnies. She also taught them to count in sign language. Emily was really into it so I think I am going to start trying to teach it to her and Juliette.

Tiny Tot School
Juliette is doing so much recently that I am so excited that I am able to include her in my TOTSchool post!
Juliette loves other kids, while the girls were working on their projects she was excited to be “playing” with Braeden.
I put four of the balls that we had in Juliette’s toy box into this muffin pan. I moved it around and she watched the balls move in holes. She enjoyed picking them up and banging them together.
While she was playing I caught some of it on video.
Our favorite books from this week:
- Little Critter’s Easter ~ Mercer Mayer
- Good Egg ~ Barney Saltzberg
- Chicka Chicka Boom Boom ~ Bill Martin Jr.
- Bye-Bye Big Bad Bullybug! ~ Ed Emberley

TOTSchool
Our week in TOTSchool
Emily is 36 months old
Last week we had another huge snowstorm. I brought in some snow for the girls to play with. Both Emily and Juliette had a great time in the snow. This was the first time that Juliette got to touch and experience snow. She was so cute as she explored it!!
Emily enjoyed scooping the snow into containers and also poking pipe cleaners into the snow. Juliette liked touching the snow and splashing around in the melted snow water!
Daddy took Emily outside to play in the snow and ….
…build a Daddy and Emily Snowman!
We made Yummy Yums (this is seriously what my friend Sarah calls these yummy creations!)
My friend Sarah came up with this cute idea to make a lion for the letter L. Emily was happy to cut the grass into fringe!!
This bingo dauber activity from Confessions of a Homeschooler was a lot of fun. I am looking forward to doing more of these with Emily, she seemed to enjoy them a lot.
They also put flat colored beads to cover the white circles in this activity from Confessions of a Homeschooler.
Juliette investigating Braeden’s toes. While the girls were at work on their projects.
The girls made corn muffins. Great practice scooping, pouring and mixing.
Spooning the mixture into the muffin tin.
We made mountains for the letter M.
Practiced patterns with M&M’s, which all the girls were happy to eat when we were finished!
Fine motor practice with water droppers and suction cups. Emily loves anything that means she is able to play with water!!
Emily had fun painting and listening to music for our stART project this week.
We were able to get together for art group and we worked on our color wheels and clean finger painting with orange.
Emily’s cousin came over and they had fun playing with play dough.
