Tot School

Our week in TOTSchool
Emily is 2 1/2 years old

Emily worked on her Melissa & Doug Underwater Wooden 48 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle all by herself.

We got new pattern blocks so Emily was using them to make a turtle. They are more difficult for her because they do not stay in once place. She enjoyed working with them though.

We had a picnic in the park with our Playgroup. I love this picture of Emily and Juliette!

After we had lunch we made paper airplanes and flew them around! The kids had so much fun.

Emily helped me make some granola bars. We got the recipe from

We made a trinket box for our Open Ended Art Project this week. Emily loved making the mosaic with colored pebbles and Plaster of Paris. It was a great project for fine motor skills.

For our stART project we read Little Cloud, by Eric Carle and made cloud paintings using a cotton ball and white paint.

I love how proud she is of her Marshmallow and toothpick line/train that she made for our Unplugged Project.

Emily found the lacing flowers I had made awhile ago and worked with them for awhile. We actually put them in our diaper bag so she could do them in the car!

Emily loves playing with Juliette. I was able to catch her singing "Open Shut Them" to her.

I have got to make sure and try your granola recipe this week! I love her marshmallow fun too.

She did a super job on that big puzzle!

I really want to join in on your stART and hope to soon. It is a super idea and I know Joe would enjoy it!

WTG on the puzzle!

That marshmallow project looks like a lot of fun. When my tot is older we'll have to try it. Right now she'd just eat them and not even try to make anything. LOL We found that out when we tried stringing cheerios this week. LOL

So i just found the letters that Carissa and alot of other people use too! Im so excited because these are the ones ive been dying to find. Because i plan on letting him do things on his letter sheets, like stickers, paint, or whatever depending on our theme. So i can cut these out and we can glue them onto paper and do fun stuff with it now. The other ones were great too but i printed some out and they take up quite a bit of the paper. So i had to tell you in case you want to use these ones also :) Heres the link:

Scroll down a little bit till you see the letters :)

Oh and then scroll down once you click on the letter and click where it says the letters template.

I found your blog through Raising a Happy Child I checked out your unit on Clouds since that is what we are going to be working on this week. I just love what you have your ideas for your kids. We will have to see if we can incorporate the cotton ball paint, and the book into our Cloud Unit.

I just love all the activities you are doing with Emily. I am so impressed that she can do a 48 puzzle by herself. Anna couldn't be interested in the least.

Michelle, I've been editing my photos online at www.picnik.com . I used to use adobe but since my wee babe is a tad demanding I needed something less time consuming. You edit them online and then save them. It is really user friendly and has lots of fun options.

Wow, I can not believe she did that huge puzzle by herself! She is just so advanced. My favorite picture every week is the one with her sister. She just seems like a great big sister! Did you change your blog look? It looks great! :)
