Welcome to stART! I hope that you will enjoy our story and art project and maybe even share your own too. All I ask is that you link back to A Mommy’s Adventures somewhere in your post by either adding my button or a text link, so that others can see all the other great projects that everyone shares too! The linky will be open all week.
Check out the stART tab in my navigation bar where you can find our past stART projects. All the books that we have read and did a stART project for are listed in alphabetical order.
I have noticed that the leaves on our large maple tree in the backyard are staring to turn a beautiful mixture of reds and yellows. Fall is really here!! So, this week we read Fletcher and the Falling Leaves, by Julia Rawlinson. This is a wonderful book about a little Fox, Fletcher who notices that the leaves on his favorite tree are turning brown and falling off. He is so worried about his tree and promises that he will help it. He tries to keep the leaves on the tree, but the wind keeps blowing them off. As with Fletcher and the Springtime Blossoms there is a beautiful surprise at the end of this book too!
To go along with our book Emily made a fall windsock just like the 4th of July windsock we made in the summer. For this windsock I gave Emily leaf stickers and fabric leaves from the dollar tree to use to make a collage on a piece of yellow construction paper. Unfortunately I did not get any pictures of her working on this project since Miss Juliette was not being very cooperative during the project. She was very proud of her windsock though so we did get a great picture of the finished project!
