stART ~ Little People Cars, Trucks, Planes, and Trains

Welcome to stART! I hope that you will enjoy our story and art project and maybe even share your own too. All I ask is that you link back to A Mommy’s Adventures so that everyone can see all the other great projects that everyone shares too! The linky will be open all week.

I added a stART tab in my navigation bar to make it easier to search for past stART projects. Be sure to check it out!! All the books that we have read and did a stART project for are listed in alphabetical order.

Recently, Emily has requested that we read Little People, Cars, Trucks, Planes and Trains, by Readers Digest just about every night.  She loves looking at and finding things in the pictures and of course opening all of the flaps!

To go along with this book we did some “sculpture” with a set of Krinkles Blocks that were tucked away in the closet since Christmas.  Emily loved helping me build different vehicles with the pieces in this set.  I was so excited with how much she enjoyed creating with these blocks.  I started the base of the car for her and she added the rest IMG_4225 IMG_4226 IMG_4227

She was very proud of the  race car we built together!!

Music Fun for Juliette

Were going to shake and shake and shake and shake!!

While we were in the hospital I had to come up with some things to entertain Juliette with what I had in a hospital room. Every morning I ordered Cheerios for breakfast and they came in an individual serving bowl. I happened to have one left over that I was saving for a snack later in the day. Instead I used it as a shaker to sing a song and rhythm activity with Juliette that we often do at music. Juliette had so much fun watching and listening to the song she was actually giggling and smiling the whole time I was doing it.

Were Going to Shake and Shake

Were going to shake and shake and shake and shake
Were going to shake and shake until we STOP!
Shhhhhhhhh
Were going to shake and shake and shake and shake.
Were going to shake and shake until we STOP!
Shhhhhhhhh
Were going to shake and shake and shake and shake.
Were going to shake and shake until we STOP!
Shhhhhhhh

Soon Juliette will be able to join in and shake her own rattle, for now we are enjoying the Cheerio container :0)

Foil Sculpture Shamrock

Tin Foil Shamrock

This project actually started as a Foil Squeezing project that I got from "First Art," written by MaryAnn Kohl. We had some tinfoil that I had used to cover some dishes, but was not dirty so I saved it for Emily to do this project with. As she was playing with it, I thought it would be cool if we shaped it into a shamrock. When she was getting tired of squeezing and shaping it I helped her shape it into a shamrock and then Emily went to town painting it.
