Open Ended Art ~ Henri Matisse

My Mini-Matisse

This weeks Open Ended Art theme is Henri Matisse.  At first I had no idea what to do with this, so I Googled Henri Matisse.  Emily and I took a look at his paper collages.  I asked Emily which ones she liked the best and then printed the picture out for her.  I cut out all the shapes and then gave Emily glue and the printout and let her do her thing.

After she finished her first Matisse she said “Mommy I want to do the one with  the squares now” so of course we did that one too!

I like your idea to print out Matisse's work and cut out his shapes for her to place on her own work.

I really like you approach, and Emily did awesome. Now I am looking forward to reading a Matisse book that Adventure of Bear recommended and then making another Matisse project.
